Madrid diary #New Adventure

Holà, que tal

That’s basically it for my Spanish skills, but as you may have guests it from the title I am currently in Madrid for a new adventure. I will stay 6 months here to study abroad but also to learn Spanish and to discover lots of new things.

And as you are a part of my life now, even though I might negligate you sometimes, I want you to take part on this new chapter of my life.
So, that’s for the little update and introduction now to the more interesting part of the post.

I arrived about 2 weeks , with my parents and the first thing I did was to move in  a flat shared with 8 other people. Yesss you read right 8. A bit of explanation may be need at this point . I never did any flat sharing before and to be frank  sharing my room with my sister on holiday was the closest I ever got on the flat sharing experience here.  So, I am quite excited but also a bit anxious concerning the future. Anyway, I will let you know how this works ( fingers cross everything will end up great).
The same day I show my parents the most important architectures of the city as I already visited Madrid last summer.  We went to Plaza del Sol and enjoyed a little parade at Palacio real.  The rest of the afternoon was dedicated to the shopping, because a little shopping never killed nobody.

On Wednesday we brunched at Plaza Callao and lunched at Plaza Major. Lavapiès was the next stop followed by the district of Atocha.  Sadly, we didn’t have enough time to visit the parque Retiro as my parents had to leave for the airport.

On Thursday, my curiosity took me to the parque Retiro and let me just say one thing: Favourite place ever.  It is just so calme and lovely that you have to see it by yourself. There are several lovely spots to visit, to rest or even to work out.  An entire blogpost will pop up soon on the blog.

On Friday and Saturday 2 of my friends and actual roommates found their way to Madrid and we spent the entire 2 days visiting and obviously shopping.

I hope you liked this little post about Madrid and you will definitely see more of those Madrid diary her on NIJ as I fall in love with the city.

Bisous and take care,
Marye
